Marron : The Island's prized freshwater crayfish doesn’t come any fresher than from Andermel. Visitors are presented with life cycle info and can view marron up close in the holding tanks. You can experience and see the range of sizes - even some juveniles (babies) at times, blue marron and if you’re lucky enough to see one out of the water, keep clear of the claws that can give you a bit of a nip. Plenty of photo opportunities. Farm gate sales are available.

The Marron Cafe : The Island renowned Chef offers an enticing  range of marron menu options as well as meat and chicken alternates plus daily ‘specials’. The Poachers Platter for 2 is a universal favourite with hot and cold marron, prawns, scallops and a range of our sauces. Bush Tucker herbs such as lemon and aniseed myrtle are grown on site and together with bush tomato and mountain pepper is used in many dishes. They are also used to produce a range of Bush Tucker sauces and dressings. Tastings are offered in the cellar door with the commercial sauces and dressings available for sale.

Two Wheeler Creek Wines : Are produced from farm grown grapes and  the award  winning fine wines complete the Cafe meal experience.  Diners can choose by the glass or bottle from sauvignon blanc – one of the best on Kangaroo Island – chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon, shiraz and even sparkling red and white wines by the bottle. A final treat can be a lemon myrtle liqueur produced from the farm grown herb. The Cellar Door offers tastings and take away sales for the range.

This is without doubt a complete food and wine experience that captures much that is special about Kangaroo Island. Apart from the take away farm gate and cellar door sales orders can be taken for despatch to Australian destinations.
