Local Attractions - Parndana & Surrounding Areas
Parndana is centrally located, giving easy access to the whole Island.
"The Place of Little Gums" was established in 1963 to service the booming farming community of the time. The soldier settlement scheme, which began in 1953, almost doubled the area of agricultural land on the Island.
While visiting Parndana, call in to see the historical display located in the Soldier Settlement Museum. This will give you a good insight of the development of Parndana in the early years by returned soldiers.
Often described as a typical Australian country town, there is a small shopping centre, three churches and a community hotel.
During late Winter and Spring, the beauty of the native flora and fauna scattered through the paddocks and on the roadside of Parndana are absolutely glorious.
